The Spine & Nerve Centers offers a team of highly experienced professionals. Team members include nurses, physician assistants, medical assistants and skilled administrators.
We adhere to the highest quality standard of patient care. Our physicians are board certified, teach at a national level, have been mentored by world-class pain physicians, are trained in the country’s leading interventional pain fellowships and are consistently published. Each physician is board certified through the American Board of Anesthesiology in addition to being board certified Pain Management Specialists.
Timothy Ray Deer, MD, DABPM
Dr. Deer is the president and chief executive officer of The Spine & Nerve Centers in Charleston, West Virginia. The Spine & Nerve Centers treats more than 3400 chronic pain patients per month, many with unique conditions that require an algorithmic approach to their management. He is a native West Virginian who received his medical degree from the West Virginia University School of Medicine and where he currently holds the position of clinical professor of anesthesiology.
Christopher K. Kim, MD
Dr. Kim earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA, and received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. He then completed both an internship and a residency in anesthesiology and earned his board certification in this specialty. Dr. Kim has also served as an assistant professor of anesthesiology in the pain management department at the Medical College of Virginia.
Warren Grace, MD
Dr. Grace is from New Martinsville, West Virginia. He studied Biology at West Virginia University for 3 years before being selected for early entrance to the West Virginia School of Medicine. Dr. Grace completed his internship and residency at The Ohio State University Medical Center and is a board-certified anesthesiologist. He completed his interventional pain fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.
Nicholas Bremer, MD
Dr. Bremer is an Ivy League, fellowship-trained interventional pain medicine specialist. He completed Pain Medicine fellowship training at the prestigious Columbia University in New York City, and trained in Anesthesiology at New York University, home of the storied Bellevue Hospital. He received his medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine, and his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University.
Wilfrido T. Tolentino, Jr., PA-C
The holder of a bachelor’s degree from the physician assistant program at the College of West Virginia, Wilfrido Tolentino went on to earn his physician assistant certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants in 1997.
Rebecca Butcher is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Rebecca grew up in Logan, West Virginia and attended Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College where she received her Associates of Science in Nursing and then continued on to Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia where she received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing.
Ashley Comer is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner, who is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Born and raised in Charleston, West Virginia, Ashley attended West Virginia State University Community and Technical College where she obtained her Associate’s Degree in Nursing. Continuing her education, she went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Virginia University. Graduating with honors, she completed her Masters of Science in Nursing with Family Nurse Practitioner specialization from Walden University.
Tara Tackett is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner who is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Born and raised in Charleston, West Virginia, Tara attended West Virginia University where she obtained her bachelors degree in nursing.
Carolyn S. Poston, PT
Carolyn Poston began her professional career by graduating summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia.
Mindy Starks, PT
Mindy is a physical therapist with a current focus in the outpatient setting. She graduated from Capital High School, Charleston, West Virginia. Mindy then continued her academic journey graduating with honors, from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky, where she earned a bachelor’s of Science and Master of Science Physical Therapy degree. Mindy currently is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and West Virginia Physical Therapy Association.
