Understanding the SI joint
The sacroiliac joints connect the pelvis to the lower spine. When an SI joint becomes disrupted or degenerative, it may contribute to pain and difficulty with everyday movement.
Possible contributing factors identified by the manufacturer include previous spine surgery, pregnancy-related hypermobility, trauma, and excessive load on the joint.
Diagnosis comes first

The Liberty SI Fusion System
Transfix and compress the SI joint
The Liberty SI™ Fusion System is intended for sacroiliac (SI) joint fusion for conditions including SI joint disruptions and degenerative sacroiliitis. The procedure involves the lateral insertion of 1 or 2 titanium implants transfixing across the ilium and sacrum designed to apply a compressive force to stabilize and fuse the SI Joint. Liberty SI™ is single use and provided sterile.
Procedure concept
A lateral SI fusion approach
The system is placed from the side to cross the ilium and sacrum. Your physician will explain imaging guidance, anesthesia, implant selection, recovery, alternatives, and risks for your individual case.
